IWA will hold its annual Motoring Tour for drivers and passengers with disabilities on Saturday, 24 September 2016. Now in its seventh year, the Motoring Tour will start and finish at the County Arms Hotel in Birr, Co Offaly and during the course of the day participants will travel throughout the midlands region.The main focus of the day is on enjoyment and no previous experience is required. We recently supplied the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) with the first drive from wheelchair vehicle in the country to be used for tuition. Unlike a regular drive from wheelchair vehicle that is designed to suit the individual the vehicle had to be set up to be as versatile as possible. We had to consider the fact the vehicle would be used by different people, in different wheelchairs with varying degrees of mobility and ability. The sleepy roads of Offaly will come alive on Saturday, 26th September as Irish Wheelchair Association’s (IWA) annual Motoring Rally got into gear. The rally which takes place each September is the only event of its kind in Ireland, and is designed specifically for drivers and passengers with physical disabilities who drive their own adapted vehicles. Wheelchair Cars Ireland were this years sponsors of the Irish Wheelchair Associations Rally. The rally took place in six different locations in the Midlands. These were Shannon Harbour, Pollagh, Killeigh Glendine, Tullamore Court Hotel and Garahy’s. A great day was had by all.
